We had a well attended meeting at Medtronic Tempe on Tuesday October 14th. There were two presentations which may be of interest to you and since we had some technical difficulties with the presentations, both SGIA and Ironwood have provided us with their presentations.
SGIA (Michael Clark and Ryan Hansen) shared their latest update on Medicare details and upcoming things to watch for - one is if you have an Advantage plan please look through the presentation as the cost is rising for these plans which were previously low priced - and it looks like they will be phasing out completely. I shared the great experience I had in taking advantage of the ACA (Obamacare) since I'm not yet 65 hadn't worked at Medtronic for 30 years. Ryan was a huge help to be getting through the system and we are saving $1100/month on our medical insurance with virtually the same great medical coverage that we had through Medtronic Retiree benefits. We also re-announced the increased membership dues - $25. Many present paid their dues to Jim Strange at this meeting. Our next meeting will be the Christmas/Holiday Luncheon at Shalimar Country Club on Dec. 5th at 11:30. A notice for that will be sent out about mid-November and we NEED your RSVP in order to provide a head count for the seating set up and the food. The lunch is free to members with a $10 fee for your guest.
